A new federal court decision illustrates the competing concerns with Trans student access to locker rooms and bathrooms. The latest case comes from an Illinois school district that allows students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their identified genders. It is true that transgender students have good reasons for wanting to use the locker rooms of their identified gender. Other students allege that they avoid using the bathrooms altogether. One way to look at this is that these girls are simply being transphobic and their concerns must yield to the rights of transgendered students.
